Situated in the far north-eastern corner of the country, is virgin and waiting to be explored, it boasts a strong wilderness atmosphere spread with a robust number of wildlife and its sweeping plains overshadowed by the brooding ranges offer remarkable Kodak moments to enthusiastic photographers.

Murchison Falls National Park; known for its dramatic and exploding snow-white water falls “a description of the power of nature” where the majestic river Nile squeezes into a 7 meter gorge and falls off 45 meters into the “Devil’s cauldron”, with the beautifully curved cliffs rising on the sides of the falls, in a yellow-green foliage, offer extremely stunning panorama and when Sir Samuel Baker visited in 1864, he described it (the falls) as one of the most important object throughout the entire course of the Nile.

Uganda’s Rwenzori Mountains National Park whose impressively curved conical peaks are spread with snow, flowing streams and unique bands of vegetation is a famous adventure destination known for mountaineering and trekking Uganda safaris whereas, Queen Elizabeth National Park which is known for its superb diversity of habitats and striking craters arched on the brim of its plateaus, and being home to an impressive list of birds- over 600 species; are some of the country’s most outstanding destinations.

Situated in the southwestern part of the country is the prestigious and sought after Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda’s UNESCO heritage site known for its high number of the world’s great Apes; the Mountain Gorillas, and a great count of the Albertine rift endemic bird species (23). Closest to it is the gorilla park of Mgahinga which is part of the greater Virunga conservation area that also protects the Mountain Gorillas and other endangered species like the Golden Monkeys, it is an exquisite destination where “Gold meets with Silver”.

In the western part of the country is the evergreen Uganda’s Kibale Forest National Park known for its density of primates on the African continent with over 1500 Chimpanzees, and other species like the L’Hoest Monkeys, Potto, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet Monkeys, Black & White Colobus, Bush-babies and many others.

Others include the Semliki National Park known for its female and male hot-springs and regarded as a birders paradise premier for watching both the forest and savanna specials where the palm dotted trails offer superb African scenery, Lake Mburo National Park known for wildlife viewing and birding with its wetlands offering refugee to swamp dwelling species, further in the eastern part of the country is Mount Elgon National Park rich in cultural and natural significance as well as offering tantalizing adventure to hikers.
